Law of Assumption affirmations: 24 examples by area
A six-card deck for “I am already the person who shows up”, the example this post uses.
Law of Assumption affirmations are written differently from the ones you see on most apps. They describe a state you assume is already settled, in the present tense, without asking for anything. Here are twenty-four original examples across six areas, and the one rule that separates an assumption line from a wish.
The rule: a settled state, not a request
Neville Goddard’s teaching, which is where the Law of Assumption comes from, is that you live from a state and the state shapes what you notice and do. An affirmation in this tradition is not a request to the universe. It is a description of who you already are, spoken as plainly as you would describe your height.
That gives a simple test for every line. Ask: does this sentence ask for something, or describe something settled? “Money is coming to me” asks. “I am at ease with money” describes. “I will find love” asks. “I am someone who is easy to love” describes. Requests keep you waiting; descriptions give you something to practise this afternoon.
Two more constraints, both practical. Present tense only, because “will” puts the state in the future where you cannot stand in it. No negatives, because “I am not anxious” makes you picture anxious. Everything below follows those rules, and none of it promises an outcome; a line rehearses a state, it does not guarantee a result.
Work and career
- I am a person whose work fits who I am.
- I am already the colleague people are glad to see in the meeting.
- I am at home in rooms where decisions get made.
- I am the one who says the clear sentence.
Money
- I am at ease with money and I can look at any number.
- I am someone who is paid well for work I am proud of.
- I am a calm steward of what comes in and what goes out.
- I am comfortable being the one who picks up the bill sometimes.
Relationships
- I am easy to love and I let people show me.
- I am already in the kind of partnership where I can be tired in front of someone.
- I am the friend who calls back.
- I am welcome in my own family exactly as I am.
Health and body
- I am someone who moves every day because it feels good.
- I am at peace in a body that is doing its best.
- I am rested, and I go to bed like someone who expects to sleep.
- I am kind to myself on the days I have less energy.
These four deliberately avoid claiming a medical result. “I sleep when I lie down” is a state to rehearse; it is not a treatment, and if sleep is a persistent problem the right move is a doctor, not a card.
Self and confidence
- I am already the person who shows up.
- I am someone who keeps small promises to myself.
- I am the steady one in my own life.
- I am allowed to take up the space I take up.
Creativity and study
- I am a person who makes things, and today is a day I make something.
- I am the student who sits down before I feel ready.
- I am at ease with a first draft that is rough.
- I am already fluent in the habit of returning to the work.
How to use them: one intention, six angles
Do not read all twenty-four. Pick one intention, and write it from six angles: Identity, Believe, Embody, Act, Receive, Release. The lines above are all Identity lines, the “I AM” statements Neville built everything on. The other five angles give the identity somewhere to live. For the intention “I am already the person who shows up,” the full deck is the image at the top of this post. Read it in three beats of ten seconds: believe the first two cards, decide the action, release the outcome.
A note on “feeling it real.” In this tradition the felt sense matters more than the words, which is why the Embody card exists. If you read a line and feel nothing, do not force it; shrink the line until it produces a small, real sensation, such as shoulders dropping or a slower breath. That sensation is the whole point of the practice, and a small true one beats a large imagined one.
A note on size
The lines above are deliberately modest. “I am the friend who calls back” is smaller than the affirmations you will see on a poster, and that is what makes it usable: you can be that person by 4pm. In this tradition a line is a state you step into, and you cannot step into a state that is three sizes too big. If one of the twenty-four makes you flinch, shrink it until it does not, and treat the flinch as information about where you are standing today rather than as a verdict on the method.
Where Little Lift fits
Little Lift writes decks in this voice. You type the intention, pick a mood, and it writes six cards in the assumption register: settled, present tense, no requests, no outcome promises. Then a 30-second timer walks you through them. The lineage, the technique names mapped to the six cards, and the reading list are at Neville Goddard affirmations. If you want the story of the exercise all of this descends from, read Neville’s ladder exercise, explained for phones.
