A practical guide
How to record affirmations in your own voice
Write one or two sentences you would actually say, record them in a quiet room, and listen back before adding more. You can start with your phone’s recorder. In Little Lift, Own voice lets you record a card and return to your own take.
An example to try
One small step is enough for this moment.
When did doing one small thing make a full day more manageable?
Try this practiceNo email needed. No AI credits used.Start with the sentence, not the microphone
Read your words out loud before recording. If “I handle everything perfectly” makes you argue with yourself, lower the claim: “One small step is enough for this moment.” A useful script can acknowledge a hard day without predicting how it ends.
Use language you understand immediately. You are making a recording for yourself, not auditioning for a meditation track. One natural sentence is a better starting point than twenty lines you skip.
Make your first recording
A phone and a quiet corner are enough. Keep the volume comfortable when you listen.
- Choose one short affirmation. Say it once to check that it sounds like you.
- Reduce background noise and hold your phone at a comfortable speaking distance.
- Record slowly, leaving a little space before and after the sentence.
- Listen once. Keep a natural take; re-record if the words are unclear.
- Try it at a moment you already have, such as after making your morning drink.
Use Own voice in Little Lift
Open a card and choose Own voice. Allow microphone access when you want to record. You can listen to a saved take again or choose to re-record it. The existing take stays until the replacement saves.
Little Lift includes 24 recording credits per device or browser installation. A take longer than three seconds uses one recording credit, including a re-recording; playback is unlimited. These are separate from AI credits. Recordings stay on the device and do not sync with your library, so uninstalling or clearing browser data can remove them.
Choose a practice you will return to
Your voice is an option, not a requirement. If listening to yourself feels distracting, read the card instead. There is no need to claim one voice is universally more effective.
Before choosing any app for overnight audio, check whether it actually supports background playback, looping and a sleep timer. Those are different features from recording a card. Little Lift’s focus is the card and its short Believe, Decide, Release practice.
Questions you might have
Do I need an app to record affirmations?
No. A phone recorder is enough for a simple spoken script. An affirmation app is useful if you want the words, recording and practice together.
Does Little Lift clone my voice?
Own voice records the take you speak. It is not a voice-cloning feature.
Will my voice recordings move to my new phone?
Little Lift recordings stay on the original device and do not sync with your library.
